Stronger Together

I am a white, educated, middle aged woman with two kids, a husband, and a home with all but the white picket fence.

This is the lens through which I write.

I work with men who have been in prison. Men who have murdered, who have robbed, who have assaulted, who have raped. I work with men to whom the concepts of love, of trust, of forgiveness are foreign. I work with men who strive for an unknown place, never seen, never touched, yet somehow within reach — a better way. I work with men who succeed. I work with men who fail.

This is the lens through which I write.

I write for the picket fences, I write for the forgotten, and I write for the bridge between them so that in some way; in whatever fleeting moments of attention an article can grab, I can say with all the confidence in the world — we are more alike than we are different.

We are more alike than we are different.
We are more alike than we are different.
